At Bew Dogs, we believe that luxury dog accessories should be accessible, stylish, and sustainable. As a UK-based brand, we’re dedicated to creating high-quality, affordable dog essentials that not only make your pup look fabulous but also help protect the planet. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our brand-new Puppy Product Recycling Programme, designed to support both your puppy’s growth and the environment, and giving you amazing discounts on your new pup’s pawdrobe!

Why Choose Bew Dogs for your new puppy essentials?

As any dog owner knows, puppies grow quickly, and finding the right fit for their clothes and accessories can be a challenge. With our new scheme, you don’t have to wait for your puppy to outgrow their gear before buying new, well-fitting essentials. Instead, you can shop for the perfect size at any stage of their growth, knowing that when they outgrow their products, they can be recycled, and you’ll receive a huge 50% discount on a replacement item.

Benefits of the Puppy Product Recycling Programme:

  1. Comfort and Style, Right When You Need It
You don’t need to wait for your puppy to grow before providing them with comfortable, stylish, and well-fitting essentials. Whether it’s a comfy harness, a cute cable knit jumper, a cosy dino-suit onesie, or a tailored collar, you can purchase the right size for your puppy today and be confident it will be a perfect fit.
  2. Affordable and Sustainable
The Puppy Product Recycling Programme is a great way to save money and shop sustainably. When your puppy grows out of their accessory, simply return it to us, and we’ll give you 50% off a replacement product in the new size needed. Not only will you get a great deal, but you’ll also be contributing to reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable future.
  3. Eco-Friendly and Responsible
As a brand that values the planet, we’re committed to minimising waste. By recycling your gently used dog accessories, we help to ensure that fewer products end up in landfill, making the world a greener place for future generations of pups.
  4. Reduces the Need for Fast Fashion in Pet Accessories
By participating in our programme, you’re helping to combat the rise of fast fashion, which often leads to excessive waste and overproduction. Instead, you’re supporting a more sustainable approach to puppy fashion that values quality over quantity. With each recycled product, you’re playing a part in slowing down the cycle of mass production and encouraging thoughtful consumption.
  5. Helps Other Puppies and Their Families
As part of our sustainability mission, some of the products returned may be gently refurbished and passed on to puppies in need through local shelters or rescue organisations. Not only are you recycling your puppy’s gear, but you may also be giving a less fortunate puppy a chance to experience quality products.
  6. Exclusive Offers and Loyalty Rewards
Customers who participate in the recycling programme and sign upto our newsletter will gain access to rewards such as exclusive offers, loyalty discounts, and early access to new collections. This way, returning products can benefit you even further, creating a win-win situation for both your wallet and the planet!
  7. Promotes a Circular Economy
By choosing to return and recycle products, you’re supporting a circular economy model where products and materials are reused, refurbished, and repurposed. This helps keep resources in use for longer, reducing the environmental impact of producing new items.
  8. Encourages Conscious Consumerism
Our Puppy Product Recycling Programme encourages customers to think carefully about what they purchase. It promotes conscious consumerism by allowing pet owners to buy what they truly need, knowing that they won’t have to discard products that are still in good condition. This shift towards more mindful buying decisions helps foster a healthier, more sustainable shopping culture.

How It Works:

  • Step 1: Purchase a product at the correct size for your puppy’s current measurements (we will always help size any puppy or dog – just send us an email or DM)
  • Step 2: Once your puppy grows out of their item, send it back to us or return it at one of our events.
  • Step 3: Let us know you’ll be returning the product by emailing us at [email protected] or messaging us on Instagram.
  • Step 4: We’ll recycle the item, and you’ll receive a 50% discount on a replacement product in a larger size! We’ll even let you chose a different colour should you wish to.

Return Information:

You can return wearable products via post to our London address or directly to us at an event. If you’re unsure about the process, just drop us a message via email or Instagram to let us know your return is on the way, and we’ll look out for it.

We accept used, worn products as long as they’re in good condition – no damage or excessive dirt, please – so we can recycle them effectively. If you’re not sure, just send us a message and check.

Dog Fashion Trends for 2025: What’s In and What’s Out

dog walking bags with treat pouch that hold poo bags and discreet poop bag dispenser, fashionable and stylish for 2025 dog fashion

As we step into a new year, dog fashion continues to evolve, offering more opportunities for us to pamper and style our beloved pets. Whether your pooch is your bestie or fur-baby, if like us you’re someone who has always considered their dog as part of the family, your dog’s style and comfort is likely just as important as your own. In 2025, we’ll see an exciting shift in the dog fashion world, with fresh trends that embrace both luxury and practicality. Here’s a sneak peek at the dog fashion trends for 2025 – what’s in, what’s out, and how you can ensure your pup stays ahead of the pack.

1. Colour Trends for 2025: Soft Pastels, metallics and deep colour-drenching

Just as fashion for humans has its seasonal palettes, dog fashion follows suit, with exciting new colours making their way into luxury dog accessories in 2025.

  • Soft Pastels: For those looking for elegance and sophistication, pastels will continue to be popular. Soft shades like lavender, peach, and mint green create a calming, chic look – perfect for the woman who wants to pair her stylish attire with her dog’s look.
  • Metallics & Deep Jewel Tones: Luxurious metallics like gold, silver, and bronze will grace the finest collars and leashes, adding a touch of glamour. Additionally, deep jewel tones like emerald green and midnight blue will be perfect for evening walks or special occasions, ensuring your dog’s accessories shine brightly. Keep to one or two deep colours to elevate your dog’s style in 2025.

2. Sustainable Fashion: Eco-Friendly Trends for 2025

Sustainability isn’t just for your wardrobe – it’s now making waves in dog fashion as well. As luxury meets eco-consciousness, the 2025 trends will reflect a growing demand for sustainable pet products. Here are a few ways you can stay stylish while being kind to the planet:

Recycled and Biodegradable Products: From eco-friendly collars to biodegradable poo bags, it’s clear that sustainability is becoming as important in pet fashion as it is in human fashion. At Bew Dogs, we are dedicated to offering products that merge style and responsibility and leading the way.

Eco-Friendly Materials: Look for accessories that are made from durable materials and built to last – our products might be stylish but they are not fast fashion! These materials not only help protect the environment but also offer softness and comfort that your dog will appreciate, sending less to landfill and being used again and again.

3. Must-Have Accessories for 2025: Elevating Your Dog’s Style

For those who view their dog as an extension of their own personality, stylish accessories are a must. In 2025, expect to see these accessories reigning supreme.

  • Chic Harness, Collars and Leads: Gone are the days of plain leather collars. Now, it’s all about luxury, comfort and stylish accessories. At Bew Dogs, we pride ourselves on offering these high-end accessories that provide comfort and style. After all, a harness and lead set isn’t just for walks – it’s an essential part of your dog’s outfit!
  • Luxurious Sweaters & Coats: Cosy and oh so cute – luxurious cable knit sweaters, plush cashmere scarves, and sleek dog coats will be all the rage. These items aren’t just functional for the colder months; they also ensure that your dog is always stylish, whether lounging at home or strolling through the park.
  • Sailor Bows & Bow Ties: For special occasions or just everyday flair, bows are a fun and fashionable choice. Think matching colours, luxury materials like velvet and “less is more” to add personality without compromising on elegance.

4. The Rise of Smart Accessories: Technology Meets Fashion

In 2025, fashion-forward dogs will be rocking more than just stylish collars and coats – they’ll be sporting high-tech accessories designed to enhance their safety, comfort, and convenience.

  • Smart Collars: Collars that track your dog’s activity, health, and location are becoming more popular. These accessories offer practical benefits while still maintaining a stylish appearance. Think sleek, minimalist designs with integrated technology that seamlessly fits into your dog’s wardrobe.
  • LED Accessories: As the days get shorter, dogs can still shine with LED collars and leashes that provide visibility during night walks. Fashionable yet practical, these accessories combine luxury with function, ensuring your dog’s safety while adding a cool, modern touch to their look.

5. What’s Out in 2025: Pet Fashion Faux Pas

While dog fashion is all about experimenting with new trends, it’s also important to know what’s slipping out of style. Here’s what to avoid in 2025.

  • Overly Flashy Logos: In 2025, we’re moving towards a more refined, subtle aesthetic. Excessive branding on collars or coats may feel dated, with luxury brands embracing understated elegance over big, bold logos. Think minimalist designs, subtle textures, and high-quality materials that speak for themselves.
  • Excessive Bling: While a little sparkle can add flair, over-the-top rhinestones or glittery accessories may fall out of favour to more sophisticated, timeless looks. Luxury is all about restraint and refined details.
  • Fussy, overdone patterns: We’re sure to continue seeing patterned dog accessories, which can be cute but has been truly done to death! Expect fussy patterns to take a backseat this year to make way for stylish and curated colour pieces instead.

6. How to Create a Signature Style for Your Dog

Now that you know what’s trending in dog fashion, how do you create a signature style for your own dog? Start by considering your dog’s personality and your own style preferences, and check you have the following in your paw-drobe

  • Dog Walking Bag: the ultimate functional item for all dog owners, dog walking bags will remain a staple accessory for 2025. Fed up of boring bags that need to be dropped off at home before brunch? Check out Bew Dogs’ stylish velvet walking bags, and match this to your pooch’s outfit at the same time.
  • Quality Harness: love pastel colours but own a mud monster? Consider saving lighter colours for dry months or special occasions, always chose durable products that are machine washable and pick a darker colour drenched harness for everyday wear instead, and your pup can stay stylish everyday.
  • Matching leads: Why not match the colour of your lead (or leads) to the rest of your pet’s paw-drobe. chose colours that are complimentary and ensure you have a stylish, curated look on every walk.

6 Ways to Chase Away the January Blues: Achieve a Happy January with Your Dog

After the holiday season, and with cold and dark nights drawing in, it’s very common and normal for us humans to experience the January Blues. Perhaps we’ve overindulged a little on Christmas cake, or need to make financial cut backs after spending a lot during December. Coupled with heading back to work and the normality of day-to-day routines, it’s easy to see why January can be thought of as the most depressing month of the year, perhaps bringing a feeling of emptiness or monotony. BUT remember… whether you have pets yourself or your friends, family or neighbours keep a dog you can help take care of, they can be incredible companions during this time, bringing joy and positivity. The following 6 tips can help you to beat the January Blues in 2024 with your furry friend.

1. Take a moment to appreciate the unique emotional connection you have with the dogs (or other pets) in your life

It’s hard to stay blue for long when we think about the loyalty, unconditional love and companionship that dogs provide us with. How does your dog cheer you up when you’re feeling down? Perhaps they’re always nearby to provide company or give a cuddle. Perhaps they’re the first one to greet you as you come through the door? We bet they’re always happy to see you and this should be heart-warming.

2. Combat January Blues with science – dogs help lower stress levels

The start of a new year can bring a fresh start and new goals… most of us love to set some New Years resolutions. But additional pressure from work, finance, health or fitness goals can feel stressful and stress can add to feelings of sadness or depression. The good news is that there is scientific evidence behind the stress-relieving benefits of having a dog. Interacting with dogs can lower cortisol levels, reduce anxiety, and promote a sense of calmness. Dogs are known for their soothing presence and the act of petting them, teaching them a simple new trick or playing with them can cheer us up too. So go ahead and make sure you spend just ten minutes of quality time with your dog today, and it will benefit you both.

3. Keep a healthy daily routine to avoid the January Blues

Dogs love routine. If your dogs are anything like ours, they know what time they want to get up, have their morning snack and when to go for walkies. And if we’re not ready to fulfil their routine, they’re going to nudge us to remind us! Many dogs are more relaxed don’t need to do the same things at exactly the same time every day. However all dogs need a basic routine of love and care fulfilled each day, ensuring their needs are met. And this is great for us too, as it means we also keep to a simple daily routine. Why not have your own morning snack while you feed the dogs or make yourself a warming drink, such as cup of tea or hot chocolate? Be sure to look after yourself in January and have small treats where you can to avoid those January Blues, and incorporate these into your daily routine.

4. Keep up social connections despite party season being over for now

Many of us can feel quite exhausted in January, especially if December was filled with social events, parties and Christmas visits with family. So, it’s understandable that in January we’ll be more inclined to stay home, rest and recuperate. But social connection is a key way to avoid the January Blues… taking time to rest doesn’t mean having to miss out on all social connection and dogs are the perfect way to seek this out. If possible, walk your dog at the same time of day and the same place and see if you bump into other friendly dog walkers. It can be nice to stop for a short chat and get to meet some of the local doggos. Also, whilst many like to take a social media detox in January (which we think is a great idea), for others active social media accounts is a great way to keep up some social connections without leaving the house… just try to keep some balance in your online and offline activities to ensure you avoid those January Blues. You could also offer to take care of a friends pet for a short time, or ask a neighbour to walk your dogs together once a week.

5. Get outside and get (lightly) active

Yes it’s cold and dark in January and sometimes the British weather simply doesn’t allow us to keep up the dog walking we’d do in the summer. However, when you can, be sure to get outside with your pooch so they can get their daily exercise. If your dog doesn’t need a lot of exercise, then getting outside for just a 10 or 15 minute street walk on the lead can be hugely beneficial for mental health. If you’re able to, plan longer trips at weekends or on days when you don’t have to work, that can be done during daylight hours. Visiting new spots can be a wonderful way to boost your mood, entertain your dog and avoid spending money as many lovely dog walks around the UK are completely free!

6. Finally, if you can afford to, treat your pooch in the January sales and support a small business at the same time

We understand that many people right now will be trying to cut back on spending during January. But if your budget this month does stretch to a treat, it’s a good time to make some wonderful savings in the January sales and grab a bargain. We love to treat our dogs more than ourselves and you can feel doubly warm inside by choosing an independent business for your small purchase and supporting them. To celebrate the start of 2024, Bew Dogs has 24% off absolutely everything until the end of January with promo code NEWYEAR and this includes existing sale items. Our brand new rainbow cable knits are also 24% off… a lovely gift for your pooch to keep them warm and brighten up your January days. Alternatively, we often share other small business profiles across our social media channels that we love, so be sure to follow us on these to discover a new favourite.

We hope these little tips give an idea for how your relationship with the dogs in your life can spark some joy this January. Whatever your plans, remember that if you are feeling down and it seems to you like it could be a little more than the January Blues, then don’t wait to seek some advice from your GP, or talk to a friend or family member or a mental health charity, such as the Samaritans. The sooner mental health conditions are treated, usually the quicker recovery can be so its important to get that expert help when needed.

We’d love to hear your ideas or experiences with your pets and how they lift your mood despite the January Blues, in the comments below or on our social media accounts. Why not leave a comment and tell us what you’ll be doing with your pet in January or a favourite memory of how your pooch cheered your mood.

Deck the Paws: 5 tips for pet friendly Christmas decorations

Two cute, small, fluffy pomeranian dogs wearing winter dog bow ties and grey cable knit jumpers.

Christmas is a wonderful time of year for most of us, and pets can really add to the festive joy. There are so many wonderful ways to get your precious pooch involved in the celebrations… after all, dogs love a little holiday treat as much as the rest of us!

However, there is one thing in particular that we’ve found a bit more difficult at Christmas time since having dogs at home! Christmas decorations… they’re normally bright, shiny and come in a range of different colours! No wonder our pooches thing all the Christmas decorations are their new toys to play with.

Given chewing or ingesting plastic nasties can be harmful to pets – and certainly won’t improve your festive displays – we’ve put together some great tips to ensure you can deck the halls this Christmas and decorate away, whilst keeping the space safe for all pets.

  1. Keep the tree safe: anyone who has had a puppy around a Christmas tree for the first time will know how quickly they want to explore it! It’s a great idea to do some training to prepare your dog for the tree’s arrival, and WAG has some great tips for this.

Of course, training can take time, and depending on your pooch’s perseverance it may be more practical and sensible to make the tree a safe space. Do this by choosing a stable tree stand and secure the tree to prevent curious pets from tipping it over. Choose robust tree decorations that will not smash if they are knocked over and ensure any towards the bottom of the tree and pet-friendly. If you have a real tree then avoid adding any chemicals to the tree that may be harmful to pets – a little water topped up when necessary should be all a good quality tree needs to last the festive period.

  2. Avoid tinsel and plastic garlands: At Bew Dogs HQ we used to love tinsel, it’s very nostalgic! However, as well as being pretty bad for the environment, it’s also toxic and a choking hazard for adventurous pups! We’ve easily found more eco-friendly and safe alternatives, just look for decorations made of paper, card, fabric or ribbon… these can even be homemade, and needn’t break the bank.

If you already have tinsel and can’t bear to part with it, no problem… just be sure to keep it high and out of reach of wandering paws, and be sure to keep reusing it to keep it out of landfill.

  3. Choose your Christmas plants with care: Surprisingly, a number of popular and traditional Christmas plants are toxic for dogs. However, with some easy swaps its still possible to decorate your space with festive florals.

TOXIC to dogs: Poinsettia, Holly, Mistletoe, Christmas Rose, Yew.

SAFE for dogs: Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera), African Violet (Saintpaulia), Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum), Areca Palm (Dypsis lutescens).

  4. Pick out pet-friendly lighting: some lovely festive lighting can make all the difference at Christmas time, and is a great alternative to a tree or other decorations. Just remember to keep choose LED lighting where possible, which is much safer for pets as it doesn’t heat up and therefore isn’t a fire or burn risk. Also be sure to keep wires safely out of reach.

  5. Choose these options instead of breakable ornaments: There are many pet-friendly ornaments that can be bought or made and are less hazardous than their breakable alternatives. Look our for any decorations and Christmas ornaments that are made of wood, felt, solid plastic, fabric, metal or even natural products like sea shells. Just avoid glass, china and other fragile materials.

A box of eco-friendly and sustainable peach poo bags with a vegan leather collar and lilac rope lead, against a white background.

At Bew Dogs, we understand the importance of sustainable dog products, both for the planet and for our pets comfort and wellbeing. Like many these days, when we are looking for items for our precious pooches we want to ensure that we’re contributing to sustainability and making eco-conscious choices. That’s why in just a short space of time, we’ve introduced a number of sustainability upgrades to our products and production line to assist with our eco-friendly goals. Check them out below.

Harnesses and Leads designed for sustainability

Our stunning herringbone harnesses and rope leads are designed to be long-lasting and durable. They are made with quality fabrics, which as well as having a luxurious and comfortable feel, also mean they are made to last. Excessive waste contributes to planet pollution, whereas choosing high quality items that will last longer is another simple way to support sustainability… and your little friend will definitely thank you for choosing a lovely sustainable and comfortable harness for them to enjoy. Got a messy pup who loves the sea, sand, water and… mud? No problem, our harnesses can be machine washed occasionally on a low-heat, gentle setting.

Sustainable Vegan Leather Collar Tags

Our cute besties tags, including this “best friend” tag, and the matching “puppy at heart” are made from vegan leather. As animal lovers we, of course, never use any animal products in any of our materials. But did you know that the environmental impact of producing vegan leather is lower than real leather as well? What a great sustainability win to boot (excuse the pun)!

Saying NO to plastic bags

From the start, we’ve never had any plastic bags and have stocked good quality card bags at events. These allow our customers to take their purchases home safely, and are strong enough to be reused. We now have branded canvas bags on sale for just £2 at events. These are eco-friendly and can be used over and over for all kinds of reasons. We don’t make any profit on these, but have them as a sustainable option which supports our eco-friendly mission. Want to add one of our canvas bags to your order? No problem, just send us a quick message and this can easily be arranged.

Sustainable Poo Bags at great prices

As kind to earth as we are to our beloved dogs. Our biodegradable poo bags come in a signature pastel colour, making them stylish as well as eco-friendly. These bags are strong and easy to use… and we’re getting great 5* reviews for these! Their sustainable material breaks down more easily in the environment compared to traditional plastic bags, which can take hundreds of years to decompose.

We’ve also kept the box designs simple, so the boxes can be fully recycled too (no plastic nasties)!

Each box contains 8 rolls, which is 120 bags in total and if that wasn’t eco awesome enough… these are now on special offer for just £5 a box! Stock up and save and get 3 boxes for just £12… now that is a steal.

Reduced packaging for sustainability

We now have the handy option at checkout for all our customers to select eco-friendly reduced packaging. This has become really popular with our customers. Whilst there is a place for beautifully wrapped parcels for special pupmail gifts or occasions, all customers now have the option to receive their order “naked” with no additional tissue paper from us. We’ll also recycle any packaging for you where we can.

We’re always striving to make our brand more sustainable and eco-friendly, so if you have any suggestions about this, no matter how big or small, we’d love to hear from you! Just message us on instagram, facebook or send us an email at [email protected]
